Our 11-Step Process
Our 11-Step Tempered Glass Lid Manufacturing Process
From raw soda-lime glass to finished, packaged lid — every unit passes through 11 controlled production stages with QC checkpoints at each step.
- Glass Cutting — CNC-controlled diamond cutters score raw soda-lime sheets to ±0.2mm tolerance.
- Edge Grinding — Auto-feed grinding wheels round and smooth all cut edges to remove micro-cracks.
- Curve Forming — Heated bending molds shape flat sheets into precise dome curves.
- Tempering Furnace — 700°C tempering followed by rapid air-cooling creates compressive surface stress (4–5× the impact resistance of standard glass).
- QC Inspection #1 — 100% optical and mechanical inspection for cracks, distortion, and stress fractures.
- Steam Vent Hole Drilling — Precision diamond drill creates a 3–5mm vent hole; edges polished smooth.
- Stainless Steel Rim Fabrication — Food-grade 201/304 stainless steel is stamped, rolled, and welded into the rim band.
- Rim Assembly — Glass dome is seated into the steel rim with high-temperature silicone gasket; mechanical crimp locks the assembly.
- Knob & Handle Installation — Stainless or phenolic handle is bolted through the rim with food-grade washers.
- Final QC — Drop test, thermal shock test (25°C ↔ 200°C cycling), seal integrity test on a random 2% of every batch.
- Cleaning, Labeling & Packaging — Ultrasonic cleaning, optional silk-screen branding, individual blister or foam packaging, master carton labeling.
